Do the Majority of American Citizen-Voters believe we need a Federal Law Requiring Real Rent Control Everywhere and Forever ? Initiative and Referendum in ALL 50 States and at the Federal level--widely discussed in the mid 1990's--might accomplish this.        0/2)
Today--because the Tenants have over-worked and overpaid per lifetime--a dozen times more  than the value of the units--They should OWN them--and are owed big Reparations.

Today in 2024--the average Rent--WORKED AND PAID by Millions of Inner City Tenants--primarily PEOPLES OF COLOR--is just under $2000 per month.
 
If the pre-inflated value of these basic apartments is $75,000--the tenants have paid its value in only 3 years. A very real profit can be made by the investors in 5 years--at which point--the (former) Tenant should own the unit--forevermore--and be able to put their hard-earned wages in the Bank--forevermore. The Investors should then take their profit--build  ecological technology industries /jobs--and pay  reasonable wages and taxes.

If Millions and Millions of these hard-working Tenants have WORKED and PAID at least $1000 per month more than they should have--they are truly owed something on the order of $500,000 per individual / household per 50-year working lifetime.
 
Today--with a massive explosion of wealth for more than
           800 Billionaires, nearly
       10,000 100-Millionaires;
22,000,000 Millionaires--also
        7,000 money-laundering /
        middle-class buffer zone
                                    Mutual Funds
          (213 in 1987) and  [25]
        3,000 tax-free
                  Investment  Banks
               (59 in 1987).  [25]
DOW Index and Gross "Domestic" Product  [30] exceeding those of 1960 by a factor of 50--a fact that is never mentioned is that this wealth is all too dependent upon the enslavement of 1/2 of America and the enslavement of 1/2 of the World--worse than ever in history--and seems to be quite Parallel
to the Explosion (UN/ILO) in "Free" Trade.
 
The amount of wealth these monsters think they can continue to take out of the slaves of the world cannot possibly continue--and never should have started. Let's compare its evolution to banging thru the gears of a 4-speed transmission---
1st gear) the Reagan election of 1980
2nd gear) the end of the Reagan Administration
3rd gear) North American Trade Agreement of 1994
4th gear) 2010--the US GDP and DOW index start going VERTICAL.

If the Investors lose their sources of free money--hyper-inflated rents amongst them--they will have to  get back to WORK--for the privilege of living much lower on the  hog.
 
 
 
As some of the better-off already do things like volunteer with Habitat for Humanity--maybe they AND the Trump Monster might make themselves useful by converting their use-LESS mansions into affordable housing.
 
 
   

 

Taxes ? Corporations--50 years ago used to pay about 40% of ALL our taxes--today next to NOTHING. The highest personal bracket--from 1933 thru 1967 was right around 90%. By 1987--it had been reduced to 40%. How much would they owe--for the PAST 50 years---if we changed it back to 1933 thru 1967 ?
