" The strongest bond of human sympathy, outside of the family relation, should be one uniting all working people, of all nations, and tongues, and kindreds ...".

             ---Abraham Lincoln

" ... Labor is the Superior of Capital ... Without Labor--Capital would not Exist. ...Capital has its rights--as worthy of protection as any other rights--but the error is in assuming that the Whole Labor--of Community--exists within that relation...".

Putting together the issues of  (1)  Americans returning to the land
2) Apprenticeships and cooperative education, and
3) better off Americans making major contributions to Land Reparations--

How was this possible ? With today's capital intensive agriculture--its necessary for most farmers to take out substantial loans at the start of every growing season. Who the farmers chiefly borrow from is  the US Department of Agriculture. Who decides to approve each loan--OR NOT--are local offices of the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Black History Links:

Local Farm Service Agency Committees historically have been comprised almost entirely of white men. These committees--or racist gangs--if you will--have always approved their white friends' and neighbors' loans immediately. At the same time--year after century--they've taken even a whole year to approve the loans of African, Hispanic and  Native American farmers.

Because of this RACIST ACTIVITY--the farmers of color--one after the other--throughout the past century--went broke. Then their neighbors bought their Hard-Earned /Sacred and Holy properties at auction--for far less than market value. This activity continued thru the Civil Rights era--and the Reagan and Bush Administrations.

These were NEVER isolated incidents--this Total, Nationwide Racism was the norm--for a century. It was entirely fought against by Democratic Administrations--and Totally Supported by Republican Administrations.

Earlier in the 20th century--
as the African, Hispanic and Native American farmers undeservedly lost everything--millions moved to Northern cities to find employment.

Again--America was once a "Great Nation" -- only because we were nearly ALL Working People.
Immediately prior to the 1994 ASSASSINATION of RENT CONTROL--continuing NATIONWIDE still in 2024, and also the 1994 "Free" Trade ENSLAVEMENT OF THE "Free" WORLD ($50 wages per month)--it was suggested that our country turn in an entirely different direction--toward Apprenticeships.

● In 1992--Black Enterprize Magazine told us that the Apprenticeship rate among American High School students is only 5%--Germany has an Apprenticeship rate of 60%.

1993--head of the American Federation of Teachers--Albert Shanker pulled no punches in comparing those going to College--who are treated like dukes, earls and lords--with those going to Work--who are treated like dirt.

Instructors for these apprentices could be many various Peoples of Color. Can they be paid salaries comparable to college professors--1/2 OF WHICH COULD GO TO LAND REPARATIONS ?

This apprenticeship program must also include vast reform of how we do College and how we do Business.
Apprenticeships:

If we must GET BACK TO WORK--Forevermore--Colleges and Chambers of Commerce must become involved in restructuring THEMSELVES. A few centuries ago--most ALL of us lived and WORKED much closer to the Land. Cooperative Colleges / NEU
A&M's / Land-Grant Colleges

At the conclusion of our Civil War--the former slaves were promised 40 acres for each family. Many citizens of America's inner cities today are
the descendents of America's Slaves. Although they basically never received their 40 acres--post 1865 they worked hard enough to become 925,708 Black farmers by 1920--who at that time owned 14 % of America's Farm Lands.

Over the next century nearly ALL OF THIS LAND--valued at $326 Billion--WAS LOST--not by laziness, mismanagement or bad weather....IT WAS ACTUALLY STOLEN--BY DEEPLY  ENTRENCHED RACISM WITHIN THE US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE--AND BY DISHONEST NEIGHBORS.
