1) Rent Control--(a Constitutional Amendment ?)
has been MADE ILLEGAL by the (Republican dominated) Legislatures of 29 States,
and doesn't exist in 12 other states. (Map)
On the most basic apartments and homes--
Should Rents be Returned from $2000 to $700 ?
Should Mortgages be Returned from $450K to $150K ?

2) Statistics: Rents and Mortgages on the most Basic
Apartments and Homes continue to skyrocket.  Many Investors Have Worked
Relentlessly to Assure that Demand for Affordable Housing Greatly Exceeds
Supply of Affordable Housing--both Apartments and Homes.  Total Lack of
Market Competition is what allows for inflation in Rents and Mortgages--
so extreme--that many would call it a crime.

3) National Mega-Corporate Landlords have exploded in the early 2020's ...

"... https://wraphome.org/what/without-housing/

The federal government played a major role in
creating homelessness
by cutting tens of billions
of dollars from affordable housing programs
beginning in the early 1980s. Relying on the
market
to deliver affordable housing has only
worsened the problem.

Since then, every federal plan to address
homelessness has primarily focused on “fixing”
homeless people rather than the broken housing
system.
This approach – part of the broader war
against the poor ushered in by Reagan – has
institutionalized a vicious cycle of homeless
policy. As a result, millions of people live
without housing in the U.S. every year —
including well over a million children...".
